An Xpress site is really just a monthly service that includes a world-class web site template that we customize for your needs. In addition to the design and page types already mentioned, your Xpress site includes a number of incredible features and mind-boggling technology. For more information about Xpress, visit our frequently asked questions page.
Editability

The most critical thing to know about an Xpress site is that it is easy for you to maintain. After the site is built, we provide a login to a password-protected site called the CMI (Content Management Interface). This site allows you to upload files and images and to paste content into the pages of your site. It's a snap!

Just like using Microsoft Word, we have WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) components that allow you to stylize the content on every page of your site. You can position photos within any content area, create hyperlinks to documents and other pages, and add formatting to give your pages almost any look imaginable.

Most of the CMI is point and click. drag and drop. In other words it's easy to use. We provide a downloadable PDF with complete documentation on every page. Build your own forms, add pages, modify your storefront using the CMI.

Traffic Analytics

All Xpress sites come with detailed traffic analytics. "Traffic analytics" refers to reporting that will tell you down to the second how people are using your site. Our reports provide detailed and graphical statistics on your site traffic including:

  • How many times in a given time frame a page, product or download was accessed
  • How many unique visitors accessed that page or item (thus ignoring repetitive access by the same individual)
  • How much time, on the average, visitors spend on any given page
  • What page on the site visitors tend to go to next from any given page, to provide a sense of how people move through the site, and which pages seem the most interesting from any given point within the site
  • Referral tracking, to determine where your traffic is coming from and what percentage of that traffic results in sales
  • How marketing promotions translate into sales, by allowing you to create promotions and then track their effectiveness by correlating specific promotions to traffic and sales (e.g., tracking the results of specific advertising, pay-per-click promotions, and e-newsletter mailings calculated to drive traffic to the site)

These reports will help you determine the effectiveness of each portion of the site over time, and will enable you to adapt the information to better address the needs of customers.

Hosting
"Hosting" refers to a service that you normally need to arrange to make your site accessible on the internet. With an Xpress site, hosting is built-in to the service plan. In other words, when you pay us for monthly service, your site is hosted automatically. You don't need to pay additionally for someone to host your site, and worry about whether your site will work or not. Since Xpress sites are tied to our proprietary technology, we include hosting at no extra charge to your monthly service fee.

Email is also included at no additional charge -- you get a series of email accounts as part of your Xpress service plan. You aren't required to use us for email (you can direct your web site URL to us but leave your email somewhere else) but if you need email service, it also is included as part of your monthly service plan. Our email service includes anti-spam filtering (reduces your total spam by roughly 90%) and anti-virus filtering. Our email accounts include 25 MB of disk space, and include both a web interface (for managing your email while you're out) as well as a standard POP3 connection (to download mail to Outlook or another mail client).
Password-Protected Pages
Want to limit access to some pages on your site? This is built-in to all Xpress sites. You just create a security group within the CMI and connect that group to some of your pages (or some of the categories within some of those pages). Then you add login accounts to that group. It's easy to do. When people visit those pages, they will be sent to a login page (which also doubles as a My Account page) and will be forced to log in. Once they do, if they are a member of the security group, they can reach those pages.

You can create any number of security groups and limit them to any collection of pages on your site. You can also create a form which forces people to request a login, and you can approve them as you see fit. If you have e-commerce, you can actually sell membership in the security group through your store. You can even set the expiration date of the membership. You can use this as a way to provide access to secure files, pages and information at a price that you set.
RSS Feeds
Many of our page types come with the ability to turn on an RSS feed. This means you can syndicate the content on your site, either as a free service or for a cost. RSS feeds are a way for people to subscribe to your event calendar, your news, your products, your photos, and your downloads (your MPs, for example, which means your site can offer podcasts), and to receive automatic notification to their desktops when you add new items. When you turn on an RSS feed, you'll notice the special orange button which appears to allow people to subscribe.
